Since founding in 1999, Lucky Plush Productions (LPP) has premiered over 30 original works, including performance installations, 2 dance films, and 8 evening-length productions.

A distinctive blend of contemporary dance with theater and visual design has located the company in a wide range of venues including The Museum of Contemporary Art (IL), the Dance Center of Columbia College (IL), Grace Street Theater (VA), Cusp Conference 2008 (IL), Spring to Dance (MO), Rhinoceros Fringe Theater Festival (IL), and the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (AK) among others. LPP has also collaborated with Redmoon Theater, Walkabout Theater, Ruffian Pictures, and the collective M5.

Major support has come in the form of creative residencies awarded by the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography at Florida State University (2008-2009 Choreographic Fellowship), a Lab Artist Fellowship from the Chicago Dancemakers Forum (2004-2005), and awards for choreographic excellence including a Cliff Dwellers Award for Choreography, an A.W.A.R.D Show!: 2009 finalist award (supported by the Joyce Theater Foundation and The Boeing Company), and two Illinois Arts Council Fellowships for Choreography (2000 & 2006).

Artistic Director Julia Rhoads was named one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" in 2010 for her contributions to the field, and other features in publications include The Chicago Reader's "Best of Chicago 2010" for "Best Commentary on Modern Technology by a Choreographer"; Time Out Chicago's "The Decade's 10 Best Original Dance Works" for Endplay (12/09); Chicago Tribune's "Best of Dance 2008" (12/08); Chicago Sun Times' "Lasting memories in Dance" for 2005 and 2007, and Time Out Chicago's feature cover story "5 reasons to love dance in Chicago" (11/05).
